I can’t believe I forgot to add a few things on my Lent list!
Cook!- I’m hoping this works out! I’m only eating food that I cook. It kind of limits me to things haha. But if I’m too busy and I really can’t cook, I can buy something to eat, as long as it’s still healthy!
Don’t WASTE on ANYTHING- yeah, I don’t do it on purpose, but we all throw out food that we never got to eat and is still NEW but is EXPIRED =[ yeah no more of that! so hopefully people will start splitting groceries with me =D
No more pretty nails- I will not be spending time painting my nails, it’s wasted time that I can spend doing something else =]
No more fancy earrings- NO earrings, if I really want to, I’ll just wear studs, but I can only pick one pair for the season. Too much time wasted on little things that aren’t necessary.
So far, I’m doing good on cooking for myself, I’ll get to the running today, i’ve been listening to the bible at night. I am going to mass today & hopefully I can stay for stations of the cross. YAY me!
Prayers to everyone on their Lenten journey =]

So today marks the beginning of Lent season! I been going through tumblrs and facebook status to get inspiration on what I should sacrifice this year and what things I want gain. Here is just a few things I believe I should push myself to do. Not because its Lent, but because I should be doing them already. I believe Lent gives us the opportunity to fine tune our busy lives. Take a chill pill and reflect on the things we are doing wrong and turn them into right.
Eat healthy!- About a month ago I bought a George Foreman grill, I LOVE it! Today I made a piece of salmon, one for me and one for my friend. We both brought it for lunch. It was mighty yummy if you ask me =p
Be motivation- Since I lead my Vietnamese PreCon & Confirmation classes, I feel it is my duty to always be a motivator to my kids. I can’t expect the kids to do what the Bible says unless I am doing the same too.
Be productive- The past 3 weeks, I have been really productive. Studying everyday, doing homework and the readings assigned. I’ve literally shocked myself =p
Read the Bible- I told myself I would read/ listen to the whole Bible by the end of this year. So far I found the Bible app to be very useful. They have plans on how you can approach reading the Bible. I picked up one for Lent, 36 days.
Attend prayer meetings- Even though I am a member of my young adult group, I’ve made it a point to attend the meetings. I’d have class or work, be too tired, or other things would just get in the way. I’m going to try hard to move things around and attend more often. I realized that I would only be gaining something.
Mass- I realize attending mass daily won’t be possible for my schedule, but I will attend mass on Fridays and Stations of the Cross.
Exercise- I keep telling myself that I should at least jog. So that is what I will do., maybe not everyday, but hopefully I start 2-3 days a week and gradually jog everyday. I’m even considering doing Insanity again. Last time, I made it three weeks.
Don’t spend money on useless things- People that know me well know that I don’t really spend unless I have to. This will just be a reminder for me =]
Spend more time with family- I already don’t have much of a family left, so I really want to make sure I spend enough time with them on a weekly basis.
Okay, well this is long enough already. I will add more when I think of it.
Thanks for more inspiration =]
It’s been a long time since I’ve posted on here, mainly because I’ve had no reason to. But now I do! Lent season starts on Wednesday! This year I will definitely take mattes into my own hands. I mean, this is my life I am living and who else better to take care of it than myself? My faith has been a big part of my life, whether I liked it or not, I grew up Catholic. Now that I’m all grown up, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Being in charge of the Vietnamese Confirmation classes for the past 5 years have kept me sane, thank God for opening that door for me. I take a step back and realize the responsibilities I have. I mean I have always known of them, but to really take them in and speculate every aspect of it. That is a little new for me.
Just the thought of beginning this 40 days makes me excited! I searched “lent” on tumblr to get some ideas for the Confirmation kids. Little did i know, I would be inspired myself! I went through and “heart” so many posts, there are so many people excited for the season too! This may mean that I will be posting more on tumblr =]
I came across this site on my google search, it’s super informational & inspirational, take a look =]

Chances are, your significant other is NOT getting sick of you, as much as you may think so. Yeah, things are getting less exciting, but that doesn’t mean they love you less. The beginning stage is always the best stage. Butterflies in your stomach, little surprises to impress each other, trying…
